Brussels, Belgium – December 4-7, 2023
The CERIS-DRS (Disaster-Resilient Societies) Conference convened key stakeholders from policy, research, industry, and civil society to discuss advancements in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and emerging challenges for 2024. Hosted at BAO Brussels, the event primarily focused on EU-funded initiatives, facilitating collaboration between policy-makers, practitioners, scientists, and industry leaders.
While predominantly dedicated to Horizon Europe projects, MoSaiC project was among the few EDF-funded initiatives invited, reflecting its cross-sectoral relevance in CBRN detection, autonomous systems, and robotics. The project’s dual-use potential—serving both military and civilian first responders—was a key focus, demonstrating its adaptability in crisis scenarios.
As MoSaiC’s coordinating entity, Fondazione SAFE presented the project within the CBRNe-specific session, engaging with experts on the role of autonomous and AI-powered solutions in enhancing situational awareness, threat detection, and emergency response operations.
With growing emphasis on multi-domain collaboration and technological innovation, MoSaiC continues to shape the future of CBRN resilience and disaster preparedness.
