Brescia, Italy – June 12-13, 2024
The ISPRS Low-Cost 3D (LC3D) Workshop is a leading international event dedicated to the latest advancements in low-cost three-dimensional sensor systems, photogrammetry, and 3D modeling technologies. that has become a key forum for researchers and industry experts to discuss cost-effective solutions for 3D acquisition, sensor calibration, point cloud analysis, and automation in data processing.
For its 8th edition, hosted by the University of Brescia, LC3D was held in conjunction with the Optical 3D Metrology (O3DM) workshop, offering attendees a comprehensive view of cutting-edge technologies in 3D reconstruction and measurement systems.
MoSaiC’s contribution: pioneering indoor LiDAR-Based semantic segmentation
During the workshop, MoSaiC consortium partner AIT presented the paper: “Pushing the Limit to Near Real-Time Indoor LiDAR-Based Semantic Segmentation”; Authors: P. Bournez, J. Salzinger, M. Cella, F. Vultaggio, F. d’Apolito, and P. Fanta-Jende.
DOI: 10.5194/isprs-archives-XLVIII-2-W8-2024-45-2024
This research focused on indoor LiDAR-based point-cloud semantic segmentation, a critical aspect of MoSaiC’s efforts in real-time 3D mapping and situational awareness for CBRN operations. By integrating machine learning and AI-driven automation, the proposed methodology enhances the efficiency and accuracy of spatial analysis in complex indoor environments, improving autonomous navigation and hazard detection in unstructured areas. MoSaiC’s participation in this event highlights its commitment to advancing real-time situational awareness technologies, ensuring robust and adaptive solutions for both civil and defense applications.
